BEAUTY IS IN EVERYTHING

Today’s mass media is promoting a unified ideal of beauty which penetrates through every aspect of communication. We see gleaming young women with gorgeous hair and silk-like skin; we see perfectly shaped bodies, many times artificially enhanced to fulfill an unrealistic expectation of how we are supposed to look like.

In my contribution I portray the faces of six unique girls and women at different stages in life, from different countries, ethnicities and religions; yet everyone is beautiful in their very own special way. Faces that tell their own stories, as every human carries a whole world inside of him.

We see that beauty is not what the media tries to make us believe; it is intrinsic in all of us, and all it takes to see it is a caring view and the respect for the myriads of stories behind every person’s life.

วันนี้สื่อมากมายได้สร้างรูปแบบความงาม ซึ่งเจาะทะลุทะลวง เข้าไปในทุกๆ ท่วงท่าของการรับรู้ เราเห็นความแพรวพราว ของหญิงสาว ประกายของเรือนผม และผิวที่เนียน เหมือนผ้าไหม เราเห็นเรือนร่างที่สมบูรณ์ แต่บ่อยครั้งที่การใช้การศัลยกรรมเข้าเติมเต็ม ความคาดหวังที่จะเป็นให้ได้เช่นนั้น
ซึ่งในนิทรรศการของผมวันนี้ ต้องการสื่อให้เห็นถึงเอกลักษณ์ส่วนตัวของผู้หญิง 6 คน ซึ่งมาจาก ต่างที่ ต่างเมือง ต่างศาสนา แต่พวกเขาก็มีความงามของแต่ละคนและทางของเขา ทุกๆคนมีเรื่องราวของตัวเองและทุกอย่างจากข้างใน ซึ่งมนุษย์โลกทุกคนมีอยู่ในตัวทุกคน ไม่สามารถไปลอกเลียนแบบได้
เรามองเห็นความงามที่ไม่แค่เพียงแต่สิ่งที่สื่อ พยายามทำให้เชื่อ แต่มันอยู่ในตัวเราทุกๆ คน ซึ่งจะต้องมองอย่างให้เวลาเข้าใจ และเคารพ ต่อเรื่องราวอันมากมายในเบื้องหลังชีวิตของแต่ละบุคคล
